Career
Past experience has been heavily in the ISP sector, but began in the Systems Department of Cummins Engine Co. after finishing college (Computer Science at Teesside Polytechnic):
- UUNet (joined whilst it was still known in the UK as Unipalm Pipex), and worked as a senior provisioning engineer to connect business clients to the Internet and project manage all aspects of their Internet requirements, offering technical support and interactive troubleshooting where necessary.
- Level3 Communications (UK) - Integral part of the UK project development and implementation teams that created their standard Internet services; Dedicated Internet Access (leased line connections) and Colocation (cabinet hosted connectivity in-gateway).
- Dexterus Limited - Senior IP Engineer for this startup ASP.
Designed and implemented the
resilient backbone routing infrastructure (OSPF), in addition to configuration
and responsibility for ISP connectivity to Level3 and LoNAP members using
BGP. Heavily involved in the topology and network design of service offerings
to clients.
